Target Profile: Senior Technical Engineer
EXPERIENCE
Strong experience with boats / ships – minimum 6–10 years
Solid skills in mechanics / electricity / steam systems (steam is a strong plus)
Comfortable managing multiple projects and teams in parallel
Problem solver & doer: reactive, time- and quality-driven, able to implement practical, operational solutions for:
Day-to-day technical issues (maintenance & breakdowns)
Challenges linked to new projects (boats / central kitchen / farm)
MISSION – The Senior Technical Engineer will be responsible for:
Maintenance of existing fleet:
Steam ship Sudŕn
Dahabia La Flâneuse
Tug
Anticipation and planning of works
Management of the store and workshop in Luxor
Finalization and launch support for Ręveuse + tug
Technical and logistical management of the central kitchen in Luxor
Participation in new projects:
Technical expertise for the construction of the two new boats Niagara and Indiana
Advisory role and management of specific operations (steam refurbishment, carpentry supervision, etc.)
Active participation within the Voyageurs Egypt project team
Preparation and anticipation of summer maintenance works
Planning & reporting:
Roadmaps
Weekly meetings
Individual management follow-up
Management of mixed project teams, combining internal resources and external contractors
ORGANIZATION & POSITION
Member of ETE (Engineers Team Egypt) – equivalent level to MZ / GG
Functional management: Fabien / JB
Organizational & HR management (contract, resources): Nasser
Direct team:
MK – execution of technical operations in Luxor
MH – junior engineer (electrical profile)
Ziad – finishing engineer profile
Reporting line: Voyageurs Egypt
Location:
Based in Cairo
High availability for multi-day stays between Luxor and Aswan for fleet maintenance and logistics activities (kitchen, store,repair workshop)
Compensation:
Fixed salary + performance-based variable bonus (to be discussed with Nasser)

Willing to work as a Voyageurs employee (not an independent contractor)
Strong listening skills and respect for teams and onboard expertise:
Mechanics, electricians, steam specialists, kitchen teams, ship directors
External craftsmen and professionals working with Voyageurs (painters, carpenters, ceramicists, electricians, solar energy experts, foreign technical experts – CMR, Clayton, Kongsberg – and local Egyptian experts such as Ossama, Khaled Mattar, etc.)
Transparent and collaborative mindset with Voyageurs organizations in Egypt and France
Comfortable working in multidisciplinary expert teams
Used to collective intelligence and collaborative decision-making rather than a purely hierarchical or pyramidal structure |
